Richard Tilkin, Creative Director:
Richard founded Boston Digital Productions, LLC in 1997. With decades of experience, he continues to create award-winning regional and national television, as well as corporate and special interest film and video programs.
In between corporate projects, Richard is in the final stages of completing his second feature length documentary, The Strange Name Movie, which examines the effects of having an interesting, odd, or famous name.
In 2015, he completed the documentary Aside From That, which explores the ways in which we cope with our own mortality. Aside From That has been recognized as Official 2015 Selections of the Boston Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, and Big Water Film Festival, as well as a Gold REMI Award winner at Worldfest Houston 2016.
Past projects produced and directed by Richard include:
- A series of suicide prevention programs currently being distributed to middle schools, high schools and colleges nationwide.
- An awareness documentary for the Defense Department. A Different Kind of Courage explores the effects of combat-related stress on service members and their families. More than one million DVDs have been distributed worldwide.
- Five episodes of The Great Adventure for Triage Entertainment and Scripps Networks. The episodes, which aired on Home & Garden Television and Fine Living Network, were shot on location around the world.
Other work includes productions for The History Channel, Liberty Mutual, CBS Entertainment, Fidelity Investments, Ocean Spray, NBA Entertainment and MTV.
Richard draws upon his finely honed entertainment and documentary skills to create unique and compelling programs for corporate communications, fundraising and education. As a director, he excels in his ability to work with both professional and non-professional talent to elicit engaging performances.

Jimmy Jay Frieden, “Mr. Everything”: Jimmy Jay’s high school track coach once told a local reporter “Jimmy is our team’s Mr. Everything”. And just like then, he is our Mr. Everything as well. But don’t confuse that with a jack-of-all-trades. Jimmy’s 26 years of freelance experience as a commercial, corporate and broadcast Producer, Director, DP, LD and editor has allowed him to excel in each of these critical departments. Some of his most notable clients are This Old House, The Boston Bruins and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Jimmy Jay also won a Freddy for The Million Calorie March in 2008.
Alyssa Bichunsky, Production & Business Manager: Production and business management is her forte. You can find her in the office interacting with clients and making sure pre and post productions run smoothly. On set, she is our go-to PA and assists with lighting, audio, and serves as a teleprompter operator. With a passion for editing, Alyssa also works with our editing team on numerous projects. She graduated from Simmons College with a BA in Communications Media Arts. While at Simmons, Alyssa gained great experience working in the promotions and on-air teams at iHeartMedia.
Bob Hoffmann, Motion Designer/Animation Director: Bob’s distinguished motion design career boasts work for an impressive list of clients. Most recently he completed multiple projects for BBC America. During his time at one the country’s most prestigious broadcast design firms, The DI Group in Boston, he was involved in a variety of projects for the Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, TBS, ESPN, The Golf Channel and the launch of the HGTV, Animal Planet, Discovery International, The Food Network and Request Pay Per View Television Network.His work for major television networks continued at Smash, a strategic/creative firm that specializes in distinctive branding, design and advertising for media clients. Hoffmann has been involved in a wide range of projects for Showtime, The Movie Channel, The History Channel, The Biography Channel, NBC Sports, Discovery Digital Networks and Oxygen.Early in his career Bob was nominated by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for Primetime and Daytime National Emmy Awards. In 2011, Bob was the Animation Director for Gold Remi, Gold Hermes, and Silver Telly Award-winning productions. He’s an asset to the Boston Digital team and his work never ceases to impress.
Rocco Giuliano, Writer: In Rocco’s varied (some would say “checkered”) career, he has worked as a medical photographer, media personality, college lecturer, rock band roadie and communications consultant, as well as a freelance scriptwriter. One happy result of Rocco’s broad-based experience is his ability to handle any kind of content, and to write in whatever style works best for the job at hand. Rocco has written hundreds of video scripts and executive speeches for high stakes events such as investor meetings, global conferences, trade shows, and product launches. He has also written and co-produced both feature length and short documentary films including festival favorite Landfill: From Guppies to Yuppies, the first short film in a trilogy about Boston’s Fort Point arts community.
Ed Grenga, Music Composer: Ed Grenga has been a full time professional musician since the age of seventeen. He has worked as a songwriter, producer, arranger, and film and TV composer for over thirty years. He is prolific in many styles of music, making him one of the top go-to composers for hire in New England. Ed has worked with many famous pop and R&B artists and producers, including Ross Vannelli, Jeffery Osborne, Howard Hewett (Shalomar), Kim Carnes, Buddy Miles, and Tracy Bonham. Ed has also scored over a dozen feature films, documentaries and TV shows, as well as thousands of soundtracks for Fortune 500 companies including Gillette, Proctor and Gamble, Hewlett Packard, AND EMC.
Jen Bagley, Editor/Videographer: Jen is a highly skilled editor. She was the primary editor on our feature-length documentary entitled Aside From That. Clients rave about Jen’s superb natural instincts and easy going nature. She’s worked with a myriad of clients such as Liberty Mutual, The Department of Defense, Stop and Shop, Harvard University, the VA and many others. Jen also knows her way around a set. She’s an experienced shooter and has freelanced for a number of production companies and feature films. Thanks to her previous work as an editor for an advertising agency and upgrading our suites to the latest technology, she stays on top of current industry trends.
John Mahoney, Director of Photography: Based out of New England, John has over 20 years’ experience. He is familiar with all HD formats, from DSLR to 4K. John specializes in cinematic documentary style, as well as small crews making the most out of a given situation. Comfortable in the boardroom to the operating room and everywhere in between, John has worked with clients around the globe.
Joe Figucia, Director of Photography: Joe Figucia is a veteran Director of Photography based out of New England with 26 years’ experience providing his services worldwide. He has lensed projects in 35mm, Super 35mm and 35mm Anamorphic, as well as most high definition video formats. He has shot in all major domestic markets, and internationally in Canada, Mexico, Chile, Europe, Egypt, the Philippines and the Caribbean. Joe’s work has received numerous Telly, Cindy and Golden Slate awards. His films have been recognized with a gold medal at the International Film and TV Festival of New York, and a Best of Broadcasting award for Cinematography.
Mike Gorenberg, Editor: Mike’s editing experience spans all genres, from sports pieces for ESPN/ABC Capital Cities to a short film for Pirates of the Caribbean screenwriter Terry Rossio. He is a skilled, creative editor and critical thinker with wide experience in multiple formats.
